ELECTROMAGNET-WORKING MODEL

IT IS VERY EASY TO CREATE AN ELECTRO MAGNET !!!!!!!!!!!!

MATERIALS REQUIRED :

IRON NAIL,INSULATED COPPER WIRE,BATTERY AND TO ATTRACT SOME PINS

PROCEDURE :
JUST DO AS IN THE FIGURE

build an electromagnet

THEN PUT SOME PINS NEAR TO THE NAIL.....THEN YOU CAN SEE THE NAIL ATTRACTS THE PINS.....THUS YOUR ELECTROMAGNET READY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PRINCIPLE:
WHEN CURRENT FLOWS THROUGH THE COIL/SOLENOID A MAGNETIC FIELD IS GENERATED .WHEN A MAGNETIC MATERIAL PLACED IN IT THE MATERIAL BECOMES A TEMPORARY MAGNET (DEPENDS ON THE MATERIALS NATURE)

NEST 2013

National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is a compulsory test for students seeking admission to National Institute of Science Education and Research(NISER), Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS), Mumbai. BothNISER and UM-DAE CBS have been started by Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India in 2007. Their mandate is to train scientific manpower for carrying out cutting edge scientific research and for providing input to scientific programmes of Department of Atomic Energy and other applied science institutions in the country. The test is conducted in 37 centers across India. This brochure gives the detailed procedure for applying for the test, syllabus of the test and various dead lines.

VISITING STUDENTS RESEARCH PROGRAM 2013 TIFR

VSRP

TIFR conducts summer programmes in which talented students are given an exposure to research activities in areas of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics (Astronomy & Astrophysics, Condensed Matter Physics & Material Sciences, High Energy Physics, Nuclear & Atomic Physics and Theoretical Physics). The programmes are held at the Mumbai campus of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research as well as at the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA), Pune.
Typically, VSRP students will have just completed a year of their Master's programme, and get an opportunity to work on a research project at TIFR during the period mid May-mid to July each year.
At TIFR, research is carried out in frontline areas of all the fundamental sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics, as well as in the field of Science Education.  TIFR Scientists are world leaders in several fields and their published contributions to scientific knowledge are internationally recognised.  Over the years, the Institute has developed many new areas of research as well as training programmes.

VSRP Programme Schedule
Last date to apply onlineMonday, 20 Feburary 2012

NEWTONS COLOUR DISC- PERSISTENCE OF VISION

IN ORDER TO MAKE A NEWTONS COLOR DISC FOLLOW THE EASY STEPS

STEP 1 : TAKE A USELESS CD/DVD
STEP 2 : COVER IT WITH A WHITE PAPER AND COLOR IT/PAINT IT

STEP 3:BUY A SMALL MOTOR TO RUN IT(ALSO BUY TWO 1.5 BATTERY AND A CASE)CONNECT THEM THROUGH A SWITCH
WHEN THE MOTOR STARTS RUNNING THE PAINTED ABOVE CD LOOKS LIKE

IT OCCURS DUE TO OUR EYES PROPERTY KNOWN AS PERSISTENCE OF VISION!!!!!!!EVEN THE MOVIES ARE WORKING BASED ON THIS PRINCIPLE.
